How can assembly processes be made even more stable, simpler, and more efficient? FLUX Geräte GmbH is currently exploring this question in collaboration with MiniTec. A SAM demonstration system has now been put into operation at the Maulbronn site, allowing the MiniTec SmartAssist worker assistance system to be tested under real-world conditions for several months.
FLUX Geräte GmbH is a manufacturer of drum and container pumps and, together with international distribution partners, supplies customers in more than 100 countries. Its solutions are used in a variety of sectors, including industry as well as the chemical, pharmaceutical, and food industries.
The company has been working with MiniTec for several years and relies in particular on ergonomic assembly workstations. At the InHouse in-house trade show in March, FLUX became aware of the capabilities of the MiniTec SmartAssist worker assistance system—and subsequently decided to conduct a field test as part of the SAM campaign.
Through this initiative, MiniTec offers interested companies the opportunity not only to learn about MiniTec SmartAssist in a presentation but also to test it over an extended period in their own production environment.
This allows companies to determine exactly what benefits the worker assistance system offers for their specific tasks and how it can be integrated into existing processes. If the field test proves successful, the next step is to implement a system—comprising an ergonomic workstation and a digital worker assistance system—that is individually tailored to the company’s specific requirements.

„We are constantly working to further develop and improve our processes and workflows. This also includes the use of smart technology,” explains Michael Luz, Team Leader of the Assembly/Service Division at FLUX. „MiniTec SmartAssist and the SAM campaign are a great opportunity to test this technology in practice and determine its benefits for us.”
Accordingly, MiniTec recently commissioned the requested SAM system on-site – a fully configured demonstration package consisting of an assembly table and MiniTec SmartAssist with various functional modules.
The trial run focuses in particular on employee training and providing support during product assembly. MiniTec SmartAssist is intended to help make our processes and workflows even more stable and streamlined.
The example from FLUX shows that digitalization in assembly doesn’t have to remain theoretical. With SAM, MiniTec SmartAssist is being tested where its benefits are most critical – directly in the daily work process.
