Intelligent warehousing is the key to optimized inventories, speedy production and satisfied customers. MiniTec therefore optimized its materials and warehouse management in 2016 and put a state-of-the-art warehouse logistics system into operation. This includes fast and space-saving warehouse lifts, conveyor lines from the company's own range and the connection of a WMS system to the existing ERP landscape. The solution resulted in faster deliveries to customers, more reliable and transparent processes, and significant time savings along the logistics chain.
The new storage system was implemented with the partners EffiMat and Ecovium (formerly LogControl). The planning and realization was done by our own engineers. With this know-how we can also realize such solutions for our customers. If you are interested, please contact us!
The core elements are four ClassicMat vertical storage lifts from EffiMat in double combination and in conjunction with a warehouse management system from Ecovium. The advantages of storage towers are manifold. In addition to the best possible use of storage space thanks to optimum filling levels and utilization of the entire height of the warehouse, ergonomic aspects are also a major plus.
The warehouse lifts with automatic control and direct connection to the production and picking process optimize the internal material flow according to the "goods to man" principle. The MiniTec range comprises around 12,000 items, of which around 5,000 are stored in the lifts. Up to ten orders can be processed simultaneously (multi-order picking). In addition to the time and space savings, the minimization of errors in the picking process, better information and inventory control, and automated handling of items are also major benefits.
The complete plant is controlled by Ecovium's warehouse management system. All information comes together here and is made available in the ERP or merchandise management system via bidirectional interfaces.
In addition, Ecovium's WMS with its modules enables lean, paperless warehouse management from goods receipt to shipping, especially for manual warehouses. For example, orders can be picked and packed paperlessly with mobile data entry (MDE) devices and made ready for assembly and shipping.
