MiniTec SmartAssist provides companies and workshops with a powerful worker assistance system. It enables users to learn processes more quickly and offers personalized support while working. The solution has now been enhanced with several new functions and features.
One important new feature relates to the image recognition module, which enables professional quality assurance through camera inspection. To expand the range of possibilities here, MiniTec has created an additional interface for Keyence customers. This allows image recognition tasks from the Keyence camera to be imported and executed in MiniTec SmartAssist during the assembly process.
Additional new features have been developed for the plugin module. The plugin module allows the functionality of MiniTec SmartAssist to be extended for customer-specific use cases. This may involve the integration of specialized hardware, such as a scale or an ERP system. It also enables the retrieval, storage, or processing of information that does not originate from the MiniTec SmartAssist system.

Keyence cameras can now also be used with the image recognition module.
The plugin module has now been enhanced with a so-called “Action Button.” Operators can use this button to execute a plugin action, which significantly simplifies working with this feature and makes it easier to use. Another new feature related to the plugin module is that it can now also be used to control the Pick-to-Light system, particularly when dealing with dynamic bills of materials. This has the advantage that order-specific variations in materials (color or model variations) can be accommodated within an identical assembly process without changing the recipe. Order data, such as the part number, is retrieved from the ERP system and forwarded to the Pick-to-Light module. This ensures that when an order is later executed, the MiniTec SmartAssist system knows exactly which materials are required.
Last but not least, the MiniTec SmartAssist material mode now includes the “Assignment Groups” feature. This allows users to save different workstation setups without having to manually reassign materials when switching between product lines. It thus enables convenient management of materials and their assignments.
Markus Kaiser, who is responsible for developing the assistance system, is convinced of the benefits of the new features: “With these updates, MiniTec SmartAssist offers users important additional capabilities that will benefit them in their day-to-day work with the system.”

Markus Kaiser is convinced of the benefits of the new features for users.
